Hillary is a self taught artist who specializes in sculptures and paintings. He discovered his talent while he was still in primary school during the first grade where art was a compulsory subject and at that time they specialized in drawing and clay molding. To Hillary it was more than just a compulsory subject but a pathway to his destiny, the genesis to his life’s journey of purpose. Since then he has exposed his strength that is in creating pieces that appeal on a personal note. An example of Hillary’s works is a stone sculpture entitled Samanyanga that was bought by Oliver Mtukudzi in 2003 and to him this was a great thrill having a greatly honored musician buying his work. This is Hillary’s first time showcasing his works in the National Gallery on You Space. |
