Farai Chabata
Farai Chabata is a senior curator of Ethnography at the Zimbabwe Museum of Human Sciences in Harare. He obtained his MA with the university of Zimbabwe. He is an experienced museum professional in managing ethnographic collections, developing and mounting exhibition and conducting research on the diverse cultures of Zimbabwe including intangible Cultural Heritage and living traditions.
Research interest includes art, art history, urban cultural spaces, intangible cultural heritage and African thought as well as indigenous knowledge systems. An avid communicator who has also published in internationally recognized publications. He is also one of the authors who contributes of Mawonero / Umbono is a publication that sheds a bright light for the first time on modern and contemporary African art in Zimbabwe.
