week 44 Lieros Helen War Bird Oil on canvas 34 x 63 cm PC 7800War Bird By Helen Lieros
Blended colour and forms in a dreamlike state, the titular bird burns furiously at right as a phoenix does; evocative of revolution and how it cannot be easily thwarted.

On the left stands anthropomorphic figures with genitive variations, the features of their faces being unmistakably sculptural with elongated noses and deeply chiselled eyes, their arms raised skyward and a delineation between the heavens and the earth is indistinct.
The green lower section of the painting is suggestive of the earth from which the colonnade figures emanate from and each contrasting element; the War Bird included, are visually balanced and create an eased appeal to the eye.
