Potraz Poster fnlThe National Gallery of Zimbabwe  in partnership with a leading Communications Organisation, POTRAZ, officially extend this Call to locally based Sculptors to produce models for submission for an Outdoor Sculpture Competition.

The models are to be submitted to the National Gallery of Zimbabwe branches in Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare before 21 September 2018.


There shall be the announcement of the final most imaginative entries into the Competition, a jury of multifaceted industry professionals will shortlist the competitors to the final 10 entrants, (who will design middle scale sculptures) from whom the final winner shall be announced.
There will be commissioning of a large Outdoor Sculpture to be mounted at the National Headquarters of the POTRAZ new building in Mount Pleasant.
All entries must be executed in clay/ plaster/ stone. No photographic entries will be accepted.


Rules:

• The artwork selection should be from the work of Zimbabwe artists that are resident in    Zimbabwe.

Guidelines:

• Projects from emerging artists and established artists
• Ideas that focus on the role of telecommunications in Zimbabwe, Africa and the world.
• Consideration of building, architecture and sorroundings to be regarded.

How to Submit / Format Requirements:
Please submit your prototypes with detailed project descriptions. All your documents must be in PDF FORMAT in the order and format listed below.

submit/mail hard copy documents to Attention: Walter Ndundu, National Gallery of Zimbabwe, 20 Julius Nyerere Way, Harare, Zimbabwe and indicate in the top right hand corner: POTRAZ Outdoor Sculpture Submission September 2018.

Deadline for submission of prototype is 21 September 2018.

Submission:
1. Curriculum Vitae(s) and bio(s) of all artists
2. A one-page statement describing the artwork (maximum 300 words)
3. Artist statement
3. An image of the work
4. An image checklist for artwork submitted. Include the artist name, title, year, medium and dimensions.

All work submitted will be subjected to a final jury selection and upon inclusion. Artists will be required to complete a National Gallery of Zimbabwe Artist Contract Form.
