Winner of the NAMA Outstanding Visual Arts Award for two dimensional works in 2006, she studied at the NGZVAS from 2003 to 2006. Mercy’s paintings are collages that depict the social challenges faced by women and the beauty found within them. Each painting captures the daily routines and activities expected of every woman which greatly expose their feelings at every moment in time. Different feelings and characters have been captured in her work, unusual facial expressions set in diverse situations. Notable themes of Mercy Moyo’s pieces are women in dialogue at the marketplace or just on the street corner. With her brush stroke she adeptly reflects their emotions while collage background captures people engaged in news and their daily business.
